Natural foods vs. Diets- Which is better?

I receive 5 different mainstream magazines and article after article has had "real health" all wrong. Until yesterday when I flipped through my "women's day" I found an article called "the real food diet." Finally I found an article that I don't have to roll my eyes at! It briefly discusses that diets that are low in fat and have you drinking diet soda along with sugar-free products, are not going to help you lose weight. (I feel like I should add an explanation point there because I want people to get that in their brains.) When you cut fat out of your diet your body goes into starvation mode and holds on to that fat so you will never lose weight. Also when people cut out fat they miss out on all those fats that are so good for you like nuts, avocado, and coconut oil. I think we've been brainwashed by commercials to think that margarine, diet sodas, and artificial sugars are good for you. These are merely chemicals made by scientists which do more harm than good for your body. I know that sugar is not good for us but artificial sugar is not any better. Even fructose has been proven to hinder people from losing weight. So, I say do everything naturally. Raw natural honey instead of sugar, buffalo instead of beef, cacao baking chips instead of candy, stone-ground whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose white flour, olive oil at low temperatures and coconut oil at higher temperatures instead of vegetable oil or canola, goats milk digests better that cow's milk, and all natural "live" salt instead of table salt. One last thing I have to add is avoid anything that has hydrogenated oil listed in the ingredients. There is so much more out there to learn but I think this is a good start for those of you who have never been told this information before. If you are curious about some of these things that I have brought up then you can do more research by using Google or check out Mercola.com to search for some of those topics. I'm not an expert but I care enough about the body that God gave me and I care enough about my family that I did the research to find out what is best for us. Hope you have learned something new!
